Here at Jetscram we hate everything about Microsoft and it's web browsers, but today we give them a big high five!
Microsoft has provided a great website to watch the death of one of the worst products till available to users on Windows XP and before.
We have, along with every other developed, struggle with compliance to this terrible browser. I'd say more of my development life has been spent cursing, kicking, and screaming when fixing bugs in IE6 for clients then on Angry Birds....
This doesn't mean Microsoft is off the hook. They still have ie7 and ie8 to rid of!
When using YouTubes iFrame video embed, add "?wmode=transparent" to the end of the iFrame src.

We transitioned out of using TABLE layouts to fixed width floating DIVs around the end of 2004. With the rest of the industry we struggled with different browsers we struggled with fine tuning each div based on the container. Commonly one pixel could make the difference between a breaking on Internet Explorer, which would throw off a background color or a faux column.
In Early 2010 We started using Percentage width for DIVs inside the container. This method made it easier for us to layout websites. We no longer have to calculate inside widths and we maintain perfect ratios.
We've opened up the way we use this method to the world with a one page brief and some examples.
